Divided into four branches, i) cellular biochemistry and biophysics, ii) molecular ecology and evolution, iii) neurobiology, and iv) biomedicine, RIGeL offers a well-structured PhD training concept and excellent research opportunities. The school is committed to familiarize its students with a wealth of state-of-the-art methods in biochemistry, molecular biology, biomedicine, and bioinformatics, thereby providing them with the up-to-date concepts of modern biology and medicine. It will prepare young scientists for interesting careers - rewarding both to themselves and society as a whole.

RIGeL  is embedded in a flourishing surrounding with about 20 Biotech companies on campus (within the BioPark Regensburg) and a similar number in the greater Regensburg area.
